What is a Reflector in Human Design?

A Reflector has no defined centres at all. All nine are open and no channel is complete. Measured across 40,000 computed charts, Reflectors are 0.95 percent of charts, roughly one person in a hundred, which makes this the rarest type by a wide margin.

What authority does a Reflector have?

Lunar authority, and only Lunar. Measured across 382 Reflector charts it is 100 percent, because it is the only authority available when no centre is defined. In practice it means letting a full lunar cycle of about 28 days pass before a major decision.

Why are Reflectors so rare?

Because it requires that none of the 26 planetary activations in a chart happens to complete a single channel between two centres. Most charts complete at least one by chance, which is why 99 in 100 people have some definition.

A Reflector has no defined centres whatsoever. Nothing in the design is fixed, which makes this by far the rarest type and the only one whose experience changes with where they are and who they are with.

What actually defines a Reflector

No centre is defined at all. Every one of the nine is open. Type is read off which centres are connected.

With everything open, a Reflector samples and amplifies the environment rather than carrying a consistent self. That openness makes this type the most accurate read of the health of a place or a group there is.

Where these numbers come from

These statistics were produced by computing 40,000 complete bodygraphs, using the same engine that runs Omni Chart Reader, and counting the results. The birth moments were spread evenly across the years 1950 to 2025.

This measures the distribution of possible birth moments. A census of living people would come out slightly different, because real births are unevenly spread across the year.
